Even before we completed the show apartments, we knew we were working on a very special project and MPG are proud to have completed No 9 Millbank which graces the banks of the River Thames in the heart of historic Westminster, a landmark residential address that captures British style perfectly.

Situated within the impressive Art Deco themed former ICI headquarters, with original chrome and timber features throughout, on the upper levels of Millbank Residences, the heritage apartments celebrate a bygone era of craftsmanship and style.

MPG personnel hand made all of the exquisite cornices and roses individually in their North Kent factory and fitted them seamlessly to match all of the original features, including the arch windows and curved ceiling, reminiscent of an Elizabethan Hall.

Only by working with our other experts and managers could we have achieved such a perfect quality finish to all dry wall, plastering, GRG, and ceilings with a contract value of £10 million within these pristine completely refurbished apartments.

This is the ultimate testament to our dedicated staff and we would like to thank them all, including our fellow Subcontractors and the entire St Edwards team.

MPG are proud to have achieved another year without a RIDDOR and only one minor accident in the last 12 months.

Clients, managers and operatives have all worked together to achieve this tremendous result and we look forward to another safe year in 2023.

The Chelsea Creek Project has achieved 5 Million RIDDOR free hours.

MPG have been part of the St George, Chelsea Creek, Imperial Wharf Project for many years, currently on blocks G and H, previously Block F and prior phases and are proud to be an integral part of it's fantastic Safety Culture.

This is a great achievement which is thanks to all the hard work put in by the entire team.

Workers on site say this site is among the best they have ever worked on, the attention to detail is remarkable and several areas stand out including excellent welfare facilities, the public reflection of the site,  cleanliness and willingness to work together, workshops presented such as Working at Height , perimeter and fall protection, logistics and recycling and extremely well planned exclusion zones.

The team at MPG , led by our Project Leader Terry, always put Health and Safety first and make sure they look after not only themselves, but everyone on site, collectively creating a safe place to work.

Terry summed it up: "It's a pleasure to work on a well-planned and structured project. MPG along with St George pride themselves on working safely and co-ordinating with all those on site. Construction Workers have the highest rates of suicide in the country and today MPG are taking time out to recognise World Suicide Prevention Day which is on the 10th September each year.

MPG recognise suicide is a complex and deeply personal issue and the most practical thing available to all of us is to encourage conversation and listen actively.
MPG are showing everyone the short video today "On the Edge - Suicide Prevention" and inviting other trades to do the same. Helplines are displayed around all of our sites and through organisations like the Lighthouse Charity, we have trained Mental Health First Aiders and encourage all of our personnel to take time to look out and listen without judgement to reduce the historical stigma associated with Mental Health illness, including strong suicidal thoughts.

Michael Gavin commented: "A recent study has found male suicides are now at their highest level in two decades and suicides peaked in the 44 to 55 age category, In construction we lose two workers every single day to suicide! We all have a responsibility to up our game to enable those in need to have the resources available to them for much needed help. If these deaths were accidents on sites we would be putting measures in place to prevent them. Just because these deaths mainly happen away from site does not negate our responsibility ! As an industry we must come together to double our efforts in our endeavour to ensure there is no stigma attached to mental health illness and asking for help is a sign of strength".

The MPG Project team were delighted to see Marcus Blake, Managing Director, St George City Ltd, and Paul Jeal, SGCL Project Director on a site walkaround on Friday. During their tour they spoke to several of our staff who have embraced the Covid Secure arrangements on site. They commented on the good housekeeping and the excellent quality control, particularly thanking our Site Manager Teo Todorov for his excellent use of the Fieldview quality control software package which is ensuring that the highest of quality standards are continuously maintained.

MPG are delighted to be awarded the drywall , ceilings, doors & firestopping packages at the prestigious Wood Wharf Scheme B3 for Canary Wharf Contractors. This award has come as a direct result of successfully handing over 250 apartments on phase E1,E2 also on Wood Wharf which received a host of accolades and Practical Completion in December 2019.

MPG are delighted to have commenced work on the largest phase at Beaufort Park for our client St George.

The project comprises of 384 residential apartments over 4 blocks with a duration of 88 weeks and a contract value in excess of £8m.

MPG's scope includes external Structural Steel Framing (SFS), Render and Internal British Gypsum metal stud partitions
plasterboard linings along with MF and acoustic ceilings with full decorations.

Congratulations to our trainees who were nominated as Best Interiors Apprentice Finalists at the recent 2019 Berkeley Group Awards. Around 200 apprentices, managers and Berkeley Directors attended the awards ceremony. This years awards demonstrated the wide variety of trades available including Surveying, Digital Marketing, Tiling, Logistics and of course Interior Finishing. Congratulations to Everton and Kevin and all the other finalists.

Senior team members from MPG enjoyed a team building break away from the City in the picturesque setting of the Brecon Beacons. The farmhouse accommodation and home cooked food was complimented by the stunning scenery. Activities including Clay Pigeon Shooting and Quad Biking through the Black Mountains overlooking the Swansea Valley ensured everyone was taken out of their comfort zone and able to meet the challenges faced; so much so that the prevalent driving rain was hardly noticed. Special thanks to Tudor Rees of Call of the Wild and all the other organisers, cooks and managers involved.

Thanks to MACE, Berkeley homes and Canary Wharf and everyone at McMillan for helping us to promote this worthy charity.

After a recent consultation with our workforce in how we can improve the work environment it was highlighted that on occasion's the current HI Vis Vests can be obstructive. MPG have been currently trialling HI Vis Polo Shirts with the response been extremely positive. We will continue to listen to all our workforce and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

MPG have signed up to the Building Mental Health Charter in collaboration with the Construction Industry Helpline's Lighthouse Club. All sites have had a stand down this week where everyone was given the chance to download the Mental Health App, which has easy to follow advice, tools and self assessments on Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Anger and other Mental Health Issues. MPG are working hard to make Wellbeing an easy discussion topic through Mental Health Awareness Training, Mates In Mind talks and having Mental Health Ambassadors.

MPG have been Silver members of the Supply Chain School for a year and are now proud to have achieved Gold status.

MPG have committed to being Ambassadors for the Fairness, Inclusion and Respect programme, our managers have engaged in the schools many diversity, equality and quality sustainability seminars and are involved in Carbon Neutral groups who collectively aim to plant millions of trees to combat Global Warming. We have taken advantage of the video training resources available on the site and have now completed our Gold membership by carrying out a quality and waste reduction programme at Greenwich Square whereby we have mapped key performance indicators resulting in a 50% reduction of manual handling, 20% reduction of road vehicle use, 15% reduction of waste and a potential 6% overall cost saving on our entire project.

MPG were at the Berkeley Group tag rugby event in scorching 37 degrees West London yesterday supporting the Berkeley Foundation, SPEAR, Honeypot and other great charities. Congratulations to Terry and his team for playing so well and thanks to Kris Martin and Berkeley Foundation for organising a thoroughly enjoyable day.

After a Directors safety meeting involving MPG and fellow sub-contractors, the Mace team at Greenwich organised a BBQ for the whole site in recognition of reaching 500 days RIDDOR free. This is a great milestone and everyone remains committed to helping maintain the highest possible standards. Supervisors continue to put operatives to work safely and continuously check the MACE 4 steps to safety are being followed.

Along with other sub-contractors, MPG have attended the Safety First Second Nature workshop which has increased awareness of many safety issues such as:

• Promote and hold safety conversations
• Engage everyone in 'Safety first. Second nature.'
• Enhance knowledge of what is expected of our people and supply chain
• Embed tools and techniques such as the Four Steps and OEI
• Don't walk by


Ken Edwards, MACE Project Director said "Well done to all who contributed and attended the BBQ to mark our 500 day RIDDOR free achievement. Providing we remain truly focussed on putting Safety First, our operatives will continue to go home safe every day."

Following a recent visit by Canary Wharf Contractors Executives to the Southbank Place Project, MPG were highly commended for the quality of workmanship and finishes on the project. MPG are responsible for all drylining, ceilings and decorations packages over two blocks comprising of 380 apartments with a contract value over £8 million. Thanks to all our dedicated staff and operatives for ensuring we deliver another quality product for our clients.

MPG use over 5000 tonnes of plasterboard each year and incorporate several systems to ensure we send as little as possible to recycling centres and reduce labouring costs. Plaster board is not considered hazardous waste but is readily recycled and therefore must be segregated from other waste streams.

MPG order board cut to size, load out our boards to an exact area by area guide, to reduce double handling and damage. We adopt a Get It Right First Time Policy in order to minimise the waste generated by remedial works. By incorporating these procedures, we have saved an additional £135,000 in material, labouring & making good costs.

It is MPG Policy to handle our own waste stream whenever possible, which allows us to select the best waste carriers, accurately measure the amount of waste generated and carry out waste reduction exercises which can be analysed and reported upon via KPI's.

In order to bring this message home to all our managers and operatives, we have adopted a weigh station for small offcuts as well as a recycling area to construct baffle boxes from large offcuts, resulting in an even greater reduction of plasterboard waste.

This month, St George were pleased to host representatives from the Health and Safety Executive at their Fulham Reach Project.

The HSE provide an invaluable service to the Construction Industry and set extremely high standards and therefore MPG are proud to be part of the positive feedback received on this prestigious project.

MPG work hard to keep up their exemplary safety record and make sure they always prioritise the safety and health of everyone on site.

MPG take the Mental Health and Wellbeing of its staff very seriously and have created a relaxation area at Head Office where they can sit down with a trusted colleague or Mental Health First Aider and discuss any issues and concerns in a comfortable environment.

We want to ensure we create a culture where asking for help is a sign of strength not weakness, where initiatives such as these help give our employees a stable platform to talk about feelings and concerns.

MPG project teams recently attended a Quality Assurance training workshop hosted by James Green Drylining Consultancy. The workshop focused on key details and requirements for drywall partitioning and ceilings avoiding unnecessary snagging and wasted time in the build process, preventing mistakes arising at the earliest opportunity.

The workshop also highlighted the importance of fire compartmentation and review of current building regulations impacting the drylining sector alongside associated fire protection.

It was a day of celebration in honour of our newest members to the 10 year service club within MPG.

Staff were treated to a celebratory lunch in central lunch and an award in recognition of their dedication, loyalty and commitment.

The team were joined by the existing members of the 10 year club some of which have exceeded 20 + years' service

MPG are delighted to be awarded the Painting and Decorating package at Southbank Place for buildings 4A and 4B for its client Canary Wharf Contractors. This contract is worth over £1M and when combined with the associated trades already secured including drywall, ceilings, GRG profiles takes the total contract value in excess of £10M. Gavin Archer, associate director, commented " MPG have clearly demonstrated their abilities in sequence management quality and health and safety to date on the scheme. After visiting other projects where MPG carried out combined drywall and painting it was clear to see the added benefits in this approach and pleased to award MPG this works package."

MPG Management and Staff recently gathered in Central London for their Annual Business Update.

The update was an interactive session focused on the continuous improvements, innovations and many success stories within the business currently, while sharing some of the longer term ambitions and positive future outlook for the company.

In addition MPG employee of year 2018 Stefan Voinea was recognised and presented with his award.

As a fitting end to National Apprenticeship Week, our trainees past, present and future met up on Friday for a spot of lunch and a trip to the Design Centre. We look forward to meeting some new recruits at the upcoming St George Jobs Fair at Imperial Wharf on the 21st March.

MPG are actively involved in the Bounce Back Project which helps ex-offenders back in to work through training programmes, work experience, and long term employment and are enjoying the benefits of taking on trainees at our West London sites.

MPG have completed the dry lining and ceiling construction of the sales and marketing suite consisting of two show flats at No 9 Millbank. This prestigious refurbishment was recently launched and well received with the high quality finishes noted.

MPG are proud to have been part of the Balfour Beatty RNOH Hospital new build project in Stanmore. A video shows the construction from start to finish and includes MPG operatives at work. The building opened in December 2018 with 119 beds. MPG scope of works were for the internal partitions including curved wall corridors and Hunter Douglas atrium ceiling.

In the same week MPG were presented with the Drylining Apprentice of the Year Award by the Plaisterers Guild. It was a great achievement after two years of intensive training and participation in several local and national build skills competitions.

MPG offered a work experience placement to North London student Dillon last week. Dillon, who is studying ICT at Barnet and Southgate College gained valuable experience at both our Head Office and during several site office visits.

MPG employees have been busy supporting the Wrap up London campaign, donating their company fleece jackets to help the homeless during the winter months. All employee are receiving new company jackets as a thank you for their participation in this worthy cause.

As part of the MPG Project Excellence diploma MPG Project Leaders attended the Saint-Gobain innovation centre in Marylebone to undertake an interactive session with British Gypsum focusing on good practice, top ten defects in drywall, quality control , Spec SURE warranty and new products.

As always the interactive session afterwards was extremely productive with some key actions resulting from this debate , continuous learning and innovation is part of the fabric and DNA of MPG"

MPG are delighted to be involved with the opening of the Berkeley Group's West London Construction Academy in association with West London College. This state of the art college on site at the Southall Waterside Development will be able to train multiple apprentices and then take them straight on site to prove their skills with the help of their instructors.

Today is Mental Health Awareness Day.

This year MPG have thought a little more about how we feel and how our colleagues and those we affect are feeling and hopefully made a positive difference.

We continue to support the Mates In Mind Campaign and incorporate Mental Health and Wellbeing in to our corporate culture and recognise the need for change.

All MPG managers have partaken in a Mates In Mind Conversation and discussed the issues with all employees.

Today we are concentrating on talking about mental health, where to get help and time management tips designed to reduce stress.

The NHS Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore will soon greet it's patients and visitors to a new Atrium complete with a glass façade and internally finished solid wood ceiling.

MPG working with its client Balfour Beatty installed 350 m2 of Hunter Douglas Siberian Larch - the timber was installed with an acoustic fleece mounted onto Hunter Douglas demountable metal suspension rail system.

The Class O fire treated Larch is also treated with clear UV resistant varnish and has a tongue and groove edge detail to create a seamless finish. The timber ceiling creates an environmentally friendly and durable building combined with an authentic feel.

MPG as part of the overall contract were responsible for all drylining, ceilings and associates trades with a combined contract value in excess of £2M.

MPG recognize the benefit and importance of First Aid within the Construction Industry. This week in conjunction with our First Aid training provider St John's Ambulance, we have promoted First Aid and its importance to our employee's home life and especially children. In recognition of this event Children First Aid Kits were presented to employees by HSE Manager Alex Adams.

MPG Staff celebrated recent successes and recognition for continued hard work with a night at Windsor races.

The evening featured the MPG sponsored maiden race with the staff choosing the best turned out horse in the parade ring and presenting winning connections with the MPG trophy.

A good evening was had by all. Thanks to the continued dedication and commitment of all our staff.

As part of MPG's Zero defect strategy we have recently recruited Engineers as part of our project teams. As a first step of our package's construction phase, setting out and marking of all partitions and mechanical/electrical services located within walls and ceilings along with quality checks on all critical dimensions, is key .

Morgan (pictured) one of our recent recruits and newly qualified from Newcastle University, is setting out conduits and electrical services. This new method of working moves away from traditional first and second fix of drywall partitions, enabling party walls and majority of internal partitions to be closed in one visit. This method brings tangible benefits to the project such as timely delivery, improved quality control and enhanced performance of walls to name but a few.

MPG were recently represented at the annual Canary Wharf Contractors 5 a side charity football tournament winning the target challenge competition.

The event raises valuable funds for a number of charities including The Richard House Children's Hospice, Rehab, Chickenshed - Theatre Changing Lives, to name but a few.

MPG are honoured to support such good causes and enjoyable evening was had by all.

Further to the implementation of our TALK SAFE initiative in 2018, we are delighted to report to date that we have had ZERO accidents or injuries.

This achievement is dedicated to the continued efforts of all our Staff, Operatives and liked minded Clients, focused on ensuring that everyone goes home safe.

In addition, the strength and depth of our Daily Activity Briefings, Tool Box Talks, and Online Near Miss Reporting are a major factor in helping deliver this positive safety culture.

MPG this week launched its Summer Internship Programme with new recruits placed at its Southbank Place project. The programme is a paid 10 -12 weeks, with each intern gaining a variety of experience over multiple disciplines within Construction. Time is allocated across Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Health and Safety along with Quality Assurance. The objective of the programme is to enhance the intern's understanding of all the various functions, with a view to pursuing a future career within the construction industry, following further education.

The MPG project teams and clients representatives have been supporting our recent environmental campaign involving the reduction of plastic.

One of the initiatives involved issuing all the teams with reusable water bottles, the bottles have been positively received and put to good use during the current hot weather spell.

Congratulations to the MPG project team and all the operatives located at Fulham Reach (St George) project. The team this week were presented with the 2018 Health and Safety award.

The award was for outstanding achievement on the project to date, for continually meeting and in some cases exceeding the health and safety standards set by our client St George.

In addition it was noted how the loading out strategy and the reduction in manual handling of materials, by using lifting trolleys and trestles was a major positive on the scheme along with the proactive approach to health and safety in general.

As part of World Environment Day on the 5^th June 2018 MPG have committed to eradicating the use of all plastic cups, we have achieved this by providing all of its personnel and operatives with reusable recycled plastic bottles, ceasing all reordering of disposable plastic cups and cutlery immediately.

Plastic pollution is one of the biggest environmental challenges of our time, by 2050 there will be more plastic in the oceans than fish.

MPG have recently established its own in house manufacturing capability - as part of this strategy MPG are producing preformed plasterboard pelmet details traditionally made from GRG, deflection core board strips, pre folded window reveals and baffle boxes. The plasterboard utilised for elements of the production is in part used from off cuts and helps with Environmental and Sustainability standards involving waste and recycling. MPG are continuously innovating and developing new ways of improving its product offering by challenging traditional methods and procedures adapted within the drylining industry.

After a meeting last week with other students, MPG have become Ambassadors for the Supply Chain School's Fairness, Inclusion and Respect in Construction Campaign and are working towards becoming Gold Members of the School in the near future.

The aim of the ambassador is to encourage courtesy in and around the workplace, with particular emphasis on fair treatment of young persons, the role of the chairperson in challenging meetings and the various barriers that are needed to be overcome to ensure all people are given the opportunity to excel in their chosen profession.

MPG are proudly supporting Mental Health Awareness Week from the  14th - 20th May 2018

This year Mental Health Awareness week is focused on "Stress" and the impact this can have on one's Health and Wellbeing

In the construction industry alone a recent survey highlighted that "Stress" was the most common factor impacting retention levels and lost time in the workplace.

MPG will be engaging with staff and operatives throughout its projects on the subject of "Stress" and providing a copy of the Mental Health Foundation's booklet on "How to Reduce Stress"

This year, the Stop. Make a Change campaign returned. The event has run over the last two weeks (16th-27th April) and once again asked teams across the country to stand down from regular work to make time to think, discuss and plan for better health and safety performance.

​For 2018, the focus is on mental health, as well as plant safety.

Construction mental health charity Mates in Mind (https://www.matesinmind.org/) provided a 'Manage the Conversation' training course on 24^th April at the CECA headquarters in Westminster.

Steve Hails, chair of Mates in Mind said:

"In workplaces across the UK, managers and supervisors are increasingly being approached by workers who are suffering with poor mental health. For many managers, this is a challenging prospect and they may be nervous about how to handle such a conversation. We are proud to support Stop. Make a Change, and to work with CECA to offer training for managers to be more confident in these situations".

MPG took part in this excellent course and all trained managers now wear distinctive stickers on their Safety Helmets offering anyone on site the opportunity to take time out to share their concerns.

Further to a recent St George Site Audit by both Directors and Senior Health and Safety Inspectors, Construction Manager Jason White has thanked all those on site and said that it was "an absolute pleasure" to see the MPG team working extremely safely.

MPG Project Manager - Terry Raddon, is leading the 97 week residential project and is collaborating with the entire site to deliver a safe package throughout the coming months.

The team are being innovative using electric board trollies and trestles, bespoke cutting stations with the latest cold cut blade saws to ensure safety is maintained to the highest standards.

All members from the MPG team have received two consecutive workforce green cards along with free breakfast and canteen vouchers courtesy of client St George.

MPG are proud to report that for 2017 and the first quarter of 2018, the company are accident and injury free . By way of recognition of this great achievement and to celebrate the launch of our new near miss reporting system employees have received MPG branded rucksacks and jackets.

MPG Contracts Ltd have been awarded Buildings 4A and 4B at the landmark residential scheme - Southbank Place. The drylining and associated package value is £8m. Michael Gavin , Managing Director commented " We are delighted to be working again with the Canary Wharf Contractor's team that we helped to deliver the 20 Fenchurch Street project.

Southbank Place is a Joint venture with developers Canary Wharf Group and Qatari Diar.

A mix of offices, homes and retail space will integrate with open and attractive public areas, while new pedestrian routes will connect nearby Waterloo Station with the South Bank of the River Thames. A widened Chicheley Street will open up the approach to the London Eye, while a 'city square' at the heart of the scheme will provide open space and help people move around the area.

The well-known Shell Centre Tower will remain the centrepiece of the new site, occupied by Shell which is taking a further 245,000 sq ft of space. The Tower will be complemented by eight new buildings, one of which will incorporate new offices and trading floors for Shell. Approximately 800,000 sq ft of office space (including the Shell Centre Tower), along with around 80,000 sq ft new retail units, restaurants and cafés, will be accompanied by approximately 800,000 sq ft of residential space incorporating up to 790 new homes, including affordable housing. The development is planned for completion in 2019.

The proposals for the development incorporate a highly efficient energy centre which will reduce the carbon footprint of the site. The system will be designed to interconnect with a district heating network being explored for the wider South Bank area.

Canary Wharf Contractors will be Construction Manager for the project.

Congratulations to Sean Dooner, part of the MPG Apprentice scheme, who has won the Gold Medal in Plastering and Dry Lining in the World Skills UK competition.

After winning the regional heat in Leeds in June, Sean spent four days at the NEC Birmingham Skill Builds Show, sponsored by the CITB and British Gypsum, competing against other finalists around the UK.

Sean demonstrated his skills in Drylining, taping and jointing and plastering which he has gained from training at Barking College and on MPG sites in Central London including Battersea Reach, Burdett Rd and lately the Canary Wharf project at Wood Wharf.

MPG joined the Mayor of Tower Hamlets, members of Canary Wharf, and other supporters last week at the launch of the Mayors Mission to generate 1000 new Apprenticeship opportunities for Tower Hamlets residents by 2020.

Today is World Mental Health Day which MPG are proud to support.

Most people know someone who is affected by Mental Health Issues, and MPG are embracing a programme of management training, including Mental Health First Aid.

Paul Farmer, CEO of MIND recently stated "We are entering an important new chapter for mental health where we now need to turn this unprecedented public awareness into action."

MPG Apprentice Sean Dooner has had a good year. He has gained entry to the CITB SkillBuild Finals in November after getting a Bronze Medal in the Regional Event.

He has been awarded "Best Apprentice" at Barking and Dagenham College having got 100% in his Theory Exam, being the only one to have achieved this after more than 3000 other entrants.

Sean is progressing well on the St George Battersea Reach and Canary Wharf Burdett Rd sites, along with our other trainees, and is met with praise wherever he goes. He is also a contender for Dry Lining Apprentice of the Year at the Berkeley Homes Event in October.

Members of the MPG Team recently attended the Balfour Beatty - Make Safety Personal Course at the Stanmore Hospital Project. The course focused on engaging all site representatives on topical matters including alertness to hazards, quality and quantity of information generated within Tool Box Talks, sharing ideas across projects and the positive use of Near Miss Cards. The objective was to ensure that a high standard of behavior in health and safety matters was applicable to everyone on site.

MPG have invested in new multi-purpose cutting stations, which come with many health and safety features including noise reduction and PVC screens to contain and protect from sparks. The chop saw operated within the station is positioned on a rubber mat to reduce vibration and the design layout of the station ensures the saw is positioned at a safe working height.

The cutting stations are being deployed across all projects and most recently introduced at the new Stanmore Hospital project for client Balfour Beatty.

MPG secure Stanmore Orthopaedic Hospital project for Balfour Beatty .

We are proud to continue our working relationship with client Balfour Beatty in delivering Phase 1 of new Stanmore Orthopaedic Hospital. The project involves building a 123 in-patient ward along with an imaging department, café and retail space.

MPG will be responsible for the internal finishing and installation of drywall partitions, and associated suspended ceilings. MPG's experience of having working on previous hospital projects with input to design elements played a key factor in securing the scheme.

Target overall project completion end of 2018 and MPG package works July 2018

MPG are contributing to the Construction Industry GET IT RIGHT INITIATIVE - the aim is to reduce the volume of errors during construction. It has been quoted that on an annual basis the overall cost to the industry is in the region of £5B due to not getting it right first time.

Members of the MPG Management Team and Barking and Dagenham College were invited by Canary Wharf Contractors to participate in a Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership Event which took place at Morpeth School in Bethnal Green last week. 

In collaboration with other professions, MPG developed a workshop to explain the various opportunities and career paths available to young people interested in joining the construction industry.

Pupils and teachers were given an explanation of modern construction methods and then helped to create a sample piece themselves.

MPG Site Manager, Stefan Voinea, has won a second award in as many months for his work on the NLE. As this project nears completion Stefan has pulled out all the stops to ensure the client has all the assistance they require to ensure the team works as efficiently as possible. SRM said that Stefan is "Hard Working and helps MPG and SRM drive the job safely and diligently."

MPG invests in new and improved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)

After extensive research into improving it's Personal Protective Equipment, MPG have identified EVolite Helmets as the most resilient and suitable on the market while Stealth 9000 safety glasses are deemed a superior safety spectacle. MPG's commitment to improving Safety and Health for all its staff and operatives is not about complying with legislation but going the extra mile and providing the optimum in PPE technology.

The safety helmets and glasses are made of high quality materials and while they cost in excess of three times the standard PPE alternatives, the directors of MPG had no hesitation in making it company policy and that all staff and operatives be provided with the upgraded equipment.

The key features of the new equipment are outlined below.

SAFETY HELMETS

The EVOLite® Skyworker™ helmet has a suspension system and shell structure that has been designed to be used for industrial, mountaineering, rescue and leisure activities. Meeting the EN12492 standard. A helmet complying to the mountaineering standard is impact tested with two 5kg strikers. A hemispherical striker is dropped from 2 metres onto the crown of the helmet and a flat striker from 500mm on to the front, rear or side by tilting the headform to 30°. In all cases, the transmitted force through the neck of the headform must not exceed 10kN. Two penetration tests with a 3kg pointed striker are also performed within a 50mm radius of the helmet's crown without making contact with the headform.

Feedback from staff and operatives was that the new hats were lighter, comfortable, and the 4 point chin strap allowed a better fit and overall were more practical.

SAFETY GLASSES

The Stealth™ 9000 is a lightweight safety spectacle, weighing just 25g, with a wraparound 9 base curve Polycarbonate lens. The slim stylish temples have been co-injection moulded with soft rubber to increase grip and provide excellent comfort levels. All of the Stealth™ 9000 safety spectacles come with class 1 optical lenses and block 99% of ultraviolet radiation.

Feedback from staff and operatives was that sports style flexible rims were more comfortable than the traditional glasses, there is no slippage when wearing the glasses as the soft nose bridge was adjustable , The anti mist and anti scratch features were a major positive.

Launched in 2012, the Sustainability School (http://www.supplychainschool.co.uk) is a multi award winning initiative which represents a common approach to addressing sustainability within the industry's supply chain. With more than 14,000 members, the School provides free practical support in the form of e-learning modules, tailored self-assessment and action plans, sustainability training and networking opportunities.

MPG are proud to have achieved Bronze Status and are now actively working towards the next level - Silver.

MPG recently met up after work for what has now become an annual event. Regular players were joined by ex employees and everyone had a great time. There was a jovial degree of competition and the final was narrowly won by Ged Maye, beating Michael Gavin 3-1.

MPG have completed the Main Entrance Ceiling at Cleland House in Pimlico, London for Berkeley Homes. The GRG ceiling  is an example of the specialist high quality and finish of work that MPG are proud to produce.

MPG Senior Staff have recently been participating in an ongoing management development programme. The aim of the programme is to enhance knowledge and understanding of various elements within the construction sector, namely team leadership, client relations, productivity, finance and commercial. Pictured is the recent attendees at the commercial module organised by Alex Mc Gregor, Head of Commercial.

Michael Gavin invited all of MPG's employees for an evening out at the Bounce Bar and Table Tennis Club where everyone had a great time. With the help of a Games Maker, some Pizzas and a few Beers, battle commenced. We had two tables and whilst one was used to warm up, the tournament took place on Centre Court. Couples teamed up and played against the others in a fun filled Doubles contest. Eventually Paul and Alex (Project Director and HSEQ Manager) won through but it really was all about taking part. Watch out for the upcoming Pool Competition.

MPG staff enjoyed a night out recently at the SSE Arena in Wembley attending a boxing event. The main George Groves Vs Eduard Gutknecht bout was preceded by several excellent contests, particularly between Johnny Garton (pictured with MPG) and Geiboord Omier.

MPG recently held a Safety and Award Meeting at our St George Battersea Reach Project with over 50 operatives in attendance joining Tony Veale, St George Health and Safety Manager, Clive Sachs and Samuel Omoarukhe, St George Managers, and the MPG management team.

Everyone listened to the engaging talk by Tony Veale, who passionately expressed the need for all workers to think about their own Health and Safety at all times as well as looking out for their colleagues, visibly raising the morale of everyone on site who already appreciate St George benefits such as the outstanding Welfare Facilities.

Joe Adams, Project Leader, and Alex Adams, Health and Safety Manager, thanked Tony and went on to emphasise the importance of wearing the correct PPE and informed everyone that as the cold weather approaches, MPG will be providing head warmers to wear safely under their hard hats.

Cristian Tuna and Adrian Carp received an award and Free Breakfasts for themselves and their chosen colleagues for outstanding Quality and Health and Safety Standards over the last month.

Prior to a well deserved lunch break, all of the operatives were offered the choice of an MPG Fleece, Jumper or Polo shirt.

MPG have secured a new project - Battersea Reach Blocks M&N with St George London. The project is part of the next phase in Battersea which involves the development of 124 units with a contract value in excess of £2.7million

MPG are proud to be involved in the next phase of this development at Battersea and their continued association with St George Developments. MPG will be responsible for all installation of gypsum partitioning, MF Ceilings, electrical back boxes and conduits, plastering, taping and jointing including mist coat.

The project is targeted to be complete in early September 2017

MPG Contracts have now completed their works on the prestigious St James Market development for Crown Estates & Oxford Properties working for client Balfour Beatty.

The project entailed the development of a mixed use scheme of 30,000m2 of retail and commercial space across two blocks known as Regent Street and Haymarket.

MPG was responsible for the construction of all lightweight gypsum partitioning , core and shaft walls, demountable metal pan ceilings, blind boxes, acoustic plaster ceilings and fire stopping.

MPG joined Berkeley Homes along with other subcontractors last week in a bid to raise money for the Royal Trinity Hospice (https://www.royaltrinityhospice.london/)  in Clapham and Thrive (http://www.thrive.org.uk/), a charity that works to help people through therapeutic gardening, including several plots in South London.

The money was raised via two Go-Karting Evenings, MPG were overjoyed to support the one in Hertfordshire, made up of a team from the Abell and Cleland Project.

Michael Gavin, our MD, Carl Bavington, Project Manager and site manager Lee Savage helped make up the MPG Team and despite inclement weather, battled strongly to a well deserved 4th place.

Christian Iurascu and Barry Dooley have both been awarded these Coins for outstanding dedication to Health and Safety at the New London Embassy.

MPG Contracts were congratulated on achieving zero defects on a recent director inspection sign off of apartments at the prestigious Berkeley Homes Abell & Cleland project in Central London.

This was a great effort by all the team, and a fitting recognition for all the hard work in attaining our zero defect strategy into working procedures on site.

Paul McSloy, Project Director for MPG, stated: "Congratulations to all the team in achieving zero defects on this prestigious high-end residential project. This is a real testament to the attention to detail, professionalism and can-do attitude of the team."

MPG staff have voted for their employee of the year and the results conclude that Dave Butcher, our Logistics manager at the NLE is the clear winner. Dave has worked for MPG for many years and everyone appreciates his dedication, reliability, knowledge and accuracy when undertaking any task. Dave has also embraced the "MPG Way" by acting in everyone's interests throughout 2015, winning several Gold Awards.

Commercial Manager, Alex McGregor, has shown exceptional talent throughout 2015 in all aspects of his work, especially on several of MPG's prestigious projects, achieving and surpassing both Quality and Standards Goals, whilst maintaining an excellent working relationship with his Clients, Commercial Team, Project Managers, Directors and Sub Contractors.

The management and staff of MPG would like to pay tribute to one of the founding members of MPG - Patrick (Paddy) O'Malley who sadly passed away on the 5^th January 2016.

Paddy along with Martin Gavin formed MPG Plastering Ltd as it was known then in the early 1970's.

Condolences to all the O'Malley family and our thoughts are with them at this time.

MPG are looking forward to a successful 2016 after having no Reportable accidents across the entire year. Michael Gavin said that he thanked all of the employees and operatives of MPG for their hard work whilst making sure that they and their fellow colleagues worked safely.

MPG reviewed their HSE system throughout the year, making improvements to many of its already high quality systems including the Induction Process, Noticeboards and Signage, Dust Control, Eye Protection and Occupational Health Monitoring.

This year MPG believes that by collaborating further with all trades, colleagues, the community, clients and its supply chain, we can make our workplace as safe as possible for everybody.

New London Embassy, topping out ceremony. A special tribute was paid to the men and women who have played a role in the construction of the new embassy by the American Ambassador. MPG is proud to be associated with this landmark project in conjunction with its client BL Harbert and Sir Robert Mc Alpine. Well done to all the team and operatives for their achievements to date.

MPG were proud to take part in Canary Wharf Contractors Annual Charity Football Event in South East London on Friday Evening. The Event consistently raises over £20,000 per year for Charities such as Great Ormond Street Hospital, RoSPA and Demelza Childrens Hospice.

Thirty two teams were drawn in to groups of four and MPG played a strong hand this year with Will Wilkinson captaining a team representing all sites, especially Saint James Market.

Team Spirit was high, and our players and supporters were passionate, narrowly missing out on a place in the finals after winning two games with a 5 goal lead.

A good night was had by all and thanks to Canary Wharf and all the contending teams for a great competition. 

As part of MPG's Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme , a group of managers recently attended an advanced drywall training day at the Knauf headquarters in Sittingbourne.

The training day focused on technical requirements and current specifications of Knauf drywall products while participating in the building of several mock up samples to complement the technical skills.

"The Knauf training day further enhanced my on-site knowledge and reaffirmed the importance of our rigorous Quality Assurance process that ensure all technical standards in the build cycle are achieved to the manufacturers standards.

MPG are happy to announce that they have completed the Welfare Facilities Package at Abell and Cleland House. The Green Route is now fully established to the Basement Floors where we have completed the dry lining and ceiling package for the Canteen, Male and Female Toilets, Sub Contractor Offices, Showers and Drying Rooms as well as storage areas, Induction Rooms, Kitchette including Kitchen Fitout, First Aid Area and Signage. All work was completed two weeks ahead of program.

MPG have secured new works involving the Screed and Underfloor heating package at The New London Embassy in Vauxhall. The Ardex screed will be both Un-bonded and Floating with the use of Knauff Super Eco Floor insulation to assist in achieving an extremely low target for Eco emissions.

Fifty per cent of the screed Package will contain an Ambi Clip Under Floor Heating System.

The combined use of these two Products benefits the programme greatly in terms of install and curing times.

MPG will be responsible for delivering completed areas consisting of; DPM Laydown & Insulation placement, Complete and Tested Underfloor heating (Same Day), along with cured and walkable screed 4 hrs after completion.

MPG have secured a new project - Aldermans House with ISG Construction. The project based in Bishopsgate / Liverpool Street London will involve the development of 65000 sq. ft. of retail and office space. MPG are proud to renew their association with ISG Construction and will be responsible for all installation of gypsum partitioning , core and shaft walls , demountable metal pan ceilings and MF ceilings, blind boxes, acoustic plaster ceilings and fire stopping.

Central London has had too many fatal injuries involving cyclists and lorries, especially those involved in the Construction Industry. MPG are happy to report that all of our Supply Chain are involved in the CLOCS initiative which assures that HGV's are equipped with safety mirrors, cameras and side skirts to alert the driver of cyclists in their vicinity. Berkeley Homes are adamant that they will do all they can to support the Industry in reducing Injuries involving their workforce or Supply Chain and they sponsored an event on Tuesday 29th September involving themselves, the Metropolitan Police Service and O'Donovan Waste Disposal Ltd.

Commuting cyclists were given the opportunity to see inside the cab of an HGV and see the road from the drivers viewpoint, pointing out inevitable blindspots, although minimised by the mirrors and cameras fitted to the vehicle.

On Friday 11th September, the NLE project supported the US Embassy with a day of service in memory of the events of 9/11.
US Embassy staff from Grosvenor Square volunteered at a number of local community events such as mentoring students at a nearby school and a community centre clean up. 

The main event of the day co-ordinated by B.L Harbert and Sir Robert McAlpine was the renovation of a community centre in Battersea. This involved painting the interior and exterior of the building, painting benches made from wooden pallets from the site and painting and planting wooden planters, again reusing materials from the project, gardening and a general clean up.

MPG Contracts, together with supply chain members SAS International, Nevill Long, Technical Fixing Solutions and ADA Fastfix all made a financial contribution towards paying for the materials to be used on the day. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our supply chain for their continuing support, and also to thank both B.L Harbert and Sir Robert McAlpine for including us in this most worthwhile event.

MPG are pleased to announce that they have taken on another Apprentice. Jayson has previously worked as a painter and decorator, but is making a fresh start on an eighteen month dry lining apprenticeship, with the help of MPG, CITB and Lewisham College. Jayson will work on our Abell House Project initially, and under the watchful eye of our management team he will learn all aspects of the Dry Lining trade including Fixing, Taping and Jointing and Firestopping.

MPG are nearing completion of the Welfare Facilities at the Berkeley  Homes Cleland House Project, consisting of the Sub Contractors Offices, Toilet blocks and Canteen Area. 

MPG Contracts Ltd are pleased to be training an apprentice Dryliner, with the view to taking on several more trainees in the future. Whilst also attending college our new starter is gaining valuable experience on site. He has begun training under the watchful eye of  MPG's senior site staff.

MPG have recently been awarded the Gold Coin Award for Quality following the installation of a Mono Accoustic ceiling system at Fitzroy Place for Sir Robert McAlpine.

MPG's team of experienced fitters were acknowledged by both Rockfon and Sir Robert McAlpine having replaced a previous inferior system with new Rockfon Mono TE. The quality of finish has never been seen before.

As previously mentioned, MPG sent a team of installers to France earlier this year to train in the installation of Rockfon's Mono Acoustic Ceilings.

We have now completed the first Phase of the installation at Fitzroy Place in stairways and corridoors in Block G.

MPG are very proud of the finished quality of the ceilings, including flush fitting access panels, seamlessly decorated to the same high standard.

SRM and Rockfon have now had the opportunity to inspect the finished product and are extremely pleased to be able to hand over such a high quality system to the client, as our experienced team continue to install the system in other parts of the building.

MPG were delighted to support the recent Lighthouse Charity golf event which raised vital funds for such a good cause. The MPG team consisted of Michael Gavin, Andrew Curran, Bill Meere and Bill Jarman. A fantastic day was held by all, MPG narrowly missed out on the prizes by finishing 4^th.

MPG joined over 20 teams this weekend in an exciting day in Chatham at the Buckmore Park Go Kart Centre.

A Team of 6 staff enjoyed a 6 hour non stop race and improved our lap times throughout the day, rapidly keeping up with the fastest more experienced drivers.

Under the watchful eye of our manager Bill Power, Michael, Alex, Jon, Nick, Dave and Carlos battled it out with the other teams, raising around £1000 both at the event and via the Just Giving Website to help Downs Syndrome Children.

MPG Contracts have now begun work at Balfour Beatty’s prestigious development for Crown Estates in the St James area of London.

Known as St James’s Market, the mixed use scheme of around 30,000m2 of retail and commercial space will be constructed over two blocks in Regent Street and Haymarket.

The buildings will be joined by a new pedestrian public square and they are due for overall completion in Spring 2016.

This flagship project gives MPG the opportunity to work again with the Balfour Beatty management team which successfully completed the award winning London Aquatics Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

It was for their work constructing partitions and acoustic ceilings at the Aquatic Centre that MPG won the award in the Commercial category at the Saint Gobain Gypsum International Trophy Awards in June 2012.

At St James’s Market MPG will be installing lightweight gypsum partitioning, core & shaft walls, demountable metal pan ceilings and blind boxes, acoustic plaster ceilings and fire stopping.

What does good look like for Key Performance Indicators?

A recent extract from our client's assessment of our performance at the New London Embassy. Congratulations to all the team involved in the project and in particular for our KPI score relating to Health and Safety - keep up the good work.

MPG working with Stark Arvid have invested in new power lifting trucks and trestles. The investment in the region of twenty five thousand pounds is in support of MPG’s health and safety initiatives and in particular to minimise manual handling of heavy loads of plasterboard. The equipment is currently in operation at the New London Embassy and Abel House projects and has been welcomed by clients and operatives. At the point of delivery the powerlift truck enables the boards to be transported through the site directly to the work face. The truck allows a single person to load up to 1200 KG of plasterboard . The electric drive system has traction in both rear wheels which allows it to manoeuvred across rough surfaces and reduce the load on the user. When plasterboard is taken into the building the power lift truck is a natural link between the In lift Frame, as it easily fits under , and the Trestles where the plasterboard is stored ready for installation. The stacking of plasterboard horizontally on the trestles miminises the risk of boards falling that is common when stored vertically and not secured. The battery within the Power Lift Truck will typically last a normal working day and is easily rechargeable.

TRESTLES - 

The Trestles allow the materials to be stored off the floor area and the boards can be stored in the work area at the correct working level. The use of the trestles free up the trucks for other needs. The benefits of using the Trestles are ease of movement, less strenuous lifting or risk of trips and falls, increasing overall safety levels. When Trestles are not in use they are easily stored on a Trestle Stand that holds up to 100 Trestles.

MPG enjoyed a night out at “Bounce”  table tennis bar in London last Friday. After a knockabout we got down to business. We were pretty evenly matched and the final came down to Mark and Stefan against Alex and Andy. Mark and Stefan won by a whisker and Stefan became the overall winner as the two of them battled it out in a final singles game. It was back to the beer and pizza and a good time was had by all. Thanks to Mark Grogan and Michael Gavin for organising a great Friday night out.

MPG have recently carried out training for all project staff in Face fit testing. As part of MPG's continuous improvement initiative in site safety and occupational health this training has been welcomed by clients and operatives alike.

The HSE as part of their wider communication highlighted the risk of disease from overexposure to dust with the result of individuals suffering from disabilities and even death in some instances. The idea of the Face Fit testing is to understand that each face is shaped differently and therefore each mask is to fit each individual. The mask must have an effective seal to ensure there is no ability for dust particles to be inhaled.

The training focuses on testing each individual wearing a mask after they have been trained to correctly put the mask on and replicating a scenario of movements that would happen in a normal working day. Bitrex, a harmless substance. is released into the hood of the mask they are wearing to test the individual fit - any failures in the fit an alternative mask is then tested until the correct fit is achieved.

MPG secure new residential development project for Berkeley Group.

Based in the heart of Westminster, Abell House (Phase 1) as part of the Abell and Cleland development comprises of 143 high quality residential apartments. The scheme has been designed to complement the location which is renowned for prestigious government and residential dwellings.

MPG will be responsible for the internal finishing and installation of Drywall Partitions and Suspended Ceilings along with Glass Reinforced Gypsum (GRG) . MPG's experience in managing complex interface details and input with design elements have been a key factor in securing the project.

Target overall project completion is May 2016 and MPG package works October 2015

Working for BL Harbert/Sir Robert McAlpine, MPG Contracts Ltd are carrying out various packages of specialist works to the value of £9.5m over 14 floors from Lower Ground Level to Level 11.

Scope of work includes;

• Dry-lined partitions & walls to all cores and office areas to high specification finish
• Installation of metal door frames integral in the partition systems.
• Acoustic barriers below partitions forming air ducts.
• Double height elliptical glass reinforced gypsum columns to reception & waiting areas and internal garden areas,
• Fire stopping to partitions
• Welded mild steel faced forced entry and bomb rated security partitions.
• Installation of FE/BR door and window frames into the security partitions.
• Promatect cladding to diesel pipe riser.
• Internal polished plaster Art Walls.
• External lime plastered Art Walls.
• Acrovyn corner protection and sanitary wall panelling.
• Decorative & acoustical stretched fabric wall systems.
• Aluminium honeycombed wall panel system.
• Plasterboard, acoustic metal pan & acoustic glass fibre ceilings to the cores and office areas.
• Specialist decorative grid ceilings & fabricated acoustic ceilings.
• Glass reinforced gypsum horizontal elliptical spandrels and vaulted domed ceilings.
• Acoustic plaster finishes to Waiting areas & leisure areas including vaulted ceilings.
• Acoustic baffles in ceilings voids.
• Fixing all lighting, plenums and grilles within the ceilings.
• Insulated screed & underfloor heating to reception & Controlled Access Cores

MPG are working closely with the Main Contractor and are proud to be an integral part of delivering such a prestigious project.

MPG wrap up their commercial packages at No 1 & 2 Fitzroy Place. The project based in the heart of Fitzrovia, London, comprised of 2 blocks of 220,000 sq. ft. of office and retail space. MPG working for their client Sir Robert McAlpine as main contractor and client Exemplar were responsible for the installation of drylining and suspended ceilings. The drylining element was installed using British Gypsum drywall and shaft wall systems to the core and exterior linings along with the toilets to the CAT A office areas. The ceilings package involved British Gypsum MF ceilings to all areas while in the CAT A areas SAS 330 and 220 systems were deployed on all floor plates and GRG light troughs throughout.

In addition, MPG had responsibility for the installation of Kingspan Steel Framing System (SFS), vapour barriers, tyvek, insulation and silver tape to the exteriors, while in the lobby areas formed sub-frames with stainless steel trims ready to receive polished plaster. In the basement areas soffit insulation and cement board were installed.

A challenging project with a combined contract of £4.1 Million successfully completed. The main challenge was the multi-facet elements within the contract, that required close co-ordination and planning with other trades, particularly the interface with external cladding system installers. As a result of the high quality of workmanship, and managing interfacing packages successfully, the client, Exemplar, has insisted MPG are invited to tender for the next exciting opportunity, 1 Bedford Avenue.

MPG have recently completed their contract works at one of London's flagship construction projects, 20 Fenchurch St; (The Walkie Talkie). MPG staff and operatives were responsible for the installation of internal finishes comprising of suspended ceilings using SAS system 130 Q grid, Trucell ceilings to the fire vestibules and plasterboard ceilings to lift lobbies and toilet corridoors. Drylining was finished to core areas which included stairs and shaft wall risers along with the decorative finish of glass reinforced gypsum (GRG) to columns extended over 31 floors. MPG also completed the aluminium cladding to the annex building with a combined contract value of £2.5m.

MPG's association with Canary Wharf Contractors was based on a common goal to deliver a high quality product in a cost effective and timely manner. Andrew Heath-Richardson, Project Executive for Canary Wharf has commented that MPG took a proactive approach and fulfilled all of their obligations to a very high standard.

The MPG team completed the project on time and on budget and look forward to working together again in the near future.

MPG's Martin Gavin will be taking part in a 60 mile bike ride this coming weekend in aid of Wheel Power, a great charity that helps disabled people get involved in sport. The event is organised by Canary Wharf Contractors and will include cyclists from many sub contractors involved on their projects. MPG were delighted to participate in the latest St George Trophy for the 3rd year running. Michael, Terry and the rest of the team had a great time and won 3 out of 5 games played, drawing the other two, and narrowly missing out in progressing to the final after a thrilling penalty shootout. Our two strikers Michael and Ionut both scored in nearly every game, whilst Will, Stefan, Terry, Danny and Relu completed the team. The day in Wimbledon was made even better as it was also to raise funds for the SPEAR Homeless Organisation via the Berkeley Foundation. Further to the fantastic achievements on safety on many of our Projects, we are proud to announce that the Tower Vauxhall has now achieved 3,000,000 RIDDOR injury free hours as of Thursday 16th January 2014.

MPG are proud to have been part of several sites that have achieved over a million accident free hours. Battersea Reach and The Quadrant have both exceeded 2,000,000 accident free hours. The Olympics Stadium and more recently The Tower in Vauxhall and Fitzroy Place in Central London have all achieved over 1,000,000 accident free hours.

MPG, as of the end of 2013 have an AFR of 0; no RIDDOR accidents, and our goal is to continue this trend for the benefit of everyone.

Safety is paramount to the methodology of all that MPG do, and we will continue to work very hard to repeat these achievements throughout 2014.

The ultra modern "Walkie Talkie" building is looking magnificent as it nears completion, but hidden away around the corner is an equally incredible structure. St Mary-at-Hill Church (www.stmary-at-hill.org) is built on consecrated land dating back to the 12th Century. The Church was severely damaged in 1666 (the Great Fire started a few hundred yards away) and completely renovated by 1677 at the cost of £3,980. Another fire in 1848 damaged the ceiling and interior walls,renovation followed, only to be ruined in 1988 by yet another fire. Restored again, visitors are very welcome, and even allowed to eat their sandwiches in the Church during lunchtime Organ Recitals.

Now in 2013 MPG workers are giving up their time to restore the remaining internal areas of the church. Colin Wells, Andy Baker, Dave Butcher and other members of the team will be starting work in the next few weeks and we look forward to publishing pictures "before and after". Watch this space!

Some of the MPG team joined the Construction Workers guard of honour welcoming Sir Steve Redgrave in to the Olympic Stadium. MPG were proud to have had the opportunity to work on the Stadium, the Acquatics Centre and also the Athletes Village. Many congratulations to TeamGB and ParalympicsGB for their inspirational success at London 2012!
