MPG Testimonials - Young Workers

MPG have long believed that they are in a privileged position of being able to help young people in to employment. MPG have asked two young workers about their journeys so far:

My name is Calum, while unemployed I was attempting to get into the construction industry, but I had no luck until I was referred to a course run by "The Prince's Trust" called "Get in to Construction", which with MPGs help I was able to complete. During the final stages of the course I was put on a dry lining training placement at Fitzroy Place in London's West End under the management of Bill Power, who I now know to be one of MPGs most senior Project Managers. I found all of the staff then and now to be really supportive and always available to offer friendly advice as I continue my training. To my delight MPG offered me a permanent position which I accepted without any hesitation at all. MPG provide me with regular access to new skills and training and I am really enjoying working for them. I am looking forward to a long and successful career within the Construction Industry and will always be grateful to MPG for giving me the opportunity to get started.

Ryan is on a similar journey, he started last year and has this to say:

I have now been with MPG for some time, I got the job through the Princes Trust, after talking to my local Job Centre. I trained in the classroom for two weeks and gained my CSCS card before joining the Croydon CURV project. We got on really well and I have worked for MPG ever since. I have gained valuable work experience and skills on site, and really enjoy working here full time. MPG are good employers as they give loads of training such as PASMA and I am now a qualified Banksman as well looking out for me with courses like Working at Height and Manual Handling which are regularly updated.

Ryan and Calum are both hard working people and MPG hope that one day they will become Supervisors or Managers within the company and that they can pass their skills on to other young trainees.

MPG would like to acknowledge the help that the Princes Trust has offered and more information can be found at www.princes-trust.org.uk.

Hadley Wood Junior School, 2011

Members of the MPG team were delighted to take part in a project for the Hadley Wood Junior school by cleaning up their current pond area, adding a bird table and wormery as well as creating three further vegetable planters to match their existing one. Below are some photos taken before and after MPG’s project in association with Sheffield Insulations and ADA Fastfix.
